December 2007 was certainly hard on the very pretty OC star, Mischa Barton. Being found disobeying traffic rules and driving after alcohol consumption really transcribed her onscreen role of a troubled teen to real life. She was bailed out then and for the new year to start on a clean slate, Barton will accept a plea deal in her DUI case, sparing her any jail time. She is likely to agree to serve a three-year unsupervised probation term alongwith three-month alcohol education classes and pay a penalty of $1,700. The charges of marijuana consumption and driving without license will be dropped and Barton’s lawyer Anthony V. Salerno has negotiated quite well basing his case on the fact that she is a first-time offender.

They say realizing your mistake is half the lesson learnt, following this philosophy Barton was heard saying on Jan 10, 2008 in Ryan Seacrest’s L.A. radio show:

Obviously I’m 100 percent responsible for my actions in this case. I’m really disappointed in myself. I don’t know what to say about it, except that I’m not perfect, and I just don’t ever intend to do something this stupid again.
